Dr. Michael developed his love for animals while growing up on a small farm south of Eau Claire. As the proud son of hippie parents, he helped tend Jerseys, pigs, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, goats (which his father grew to loathe because they used to jump up on the roof of his car) and, of course, many dogs and cats. He obtained a Bachelor of Medical Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1985 and worked at various human hospitals in Wisconsin and Illinois before earning acceptance into the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Following graduation in 1995 he worked at various companion animal clinics in Western Wisconsin and Minnesota before moving to Green Bay in 2001. His special interests include soft tissue surgery, ultrasound and preventative medicine.
He and his wife Melissa have three children, Brianna, Dylan and Angelina. The home is populated by five cats (Albert, Diamond, Pagan, Roadie and Omen) and one lab mix dog (JoJo). |
